Counselling Approach
My practice is rooted in a person-centered, developmental, attachment-informed, neurobiological approach. I work from an integrative, somatic, trauma-informed perspective, prioritizing a collaborative approach that honors the unique insights and skills each person brings from their own lived experiences.

I have specialized training in creative, play-based, and expressive art therapies. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Internal Familiy Systems, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, TBRI, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and CSTAG.

My approach allows me to offer intentional, tailored support for gaining insights and developing tools for greater emotional resilience, distress tolerance, self-awareness, and lasting change.
Clinical Supervision Approach
I believe skillful and supportive clinical supervision is integrative. I utilize and IDSM model of supervision and am currently in the process of completing my CCS (Certified Canadian Supervisor) status with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Associtation. I adhere to the CCPA Code of Ethics.

I have provided clinical supervision, which has included practicum supervision, since 2014. I have taught two graduate level courses in Child and Adolescent Therapy and have been a registered and practicing clinician for nearly 20 years. I currently supervise a dynamic team of clinicans, including CCC, MSW, and Registered Psychologists.
It remains one of my professional and leadership joys to contribute toward the clinical development of other therapists. I hope supervision will be an enriching learning experience for both of us. It is a joy to accompany you in your work as a counsellor and celebrate your growth and successes along the way.

There are three main goals of clinical supervision:
1) Support the development of your clinical skills, knowledge and goals
2) Protection of the client
3) Ensure ethical practices

Supervision aims to provide a safe space for reflection, growth and feedback leading to effective and responsible clinical service. These aims and goals are always operating simultaneously when supervision is occurring.

I believe that being / becoming an effective therapist is a lifelong commitment to self-examination and growth. I recommend you consistently access personal counselling as you continue working as a counsellor.

The supervision you receive will be sensitive to your personal goals for yourself as a counselor. Supervision will strive to be consistent with how you conceptualize client issues. I hope you will also feel supported and challenged toward new perspectives throughout supervision.
